Reason #2 Special interview about a prize Guitar and the connection with learning Blues in schools
At our 6/23 Trading 4s show, we raffled off black and white Fender Stratocaster (signed by all 4 Chicago Blues Masters performing: Katherine David, Paul Kaye, Mike Wheeler, Larry Williams). The guitar was won by Gail Patrick (left); whose son plays drums for Katherine Davis. Caleb, the drummer, connected with Davis through her Chicago Blues program she puts on for Chicago Public Schools which brings students a hands-on experience to learn, compose and perform with her! What’s notable is that the blues drummer is only 14 years old! Congratulations Gail!
We plan to host an interview with Gail Patrick and Katherine Davis on ZOOM prior to the 7/2 Concert with Dave Specter, so we can all learn more about this story. Tune in at 6:45 PM CDT (15 minutes before showtime) to hear the interview!
Reason #3 Jimmy Johnson recently featured in Living Blues
Jimmy Johnson was one of many terrific artists featured in the Special Double Issue of Living Blues. Now 91 years old, Jimmy Johnson recently released Every Day of Your Life on Delmark Records.
We are proud to present Jimmy Johnson LIVE on stage, with Chicago Blues Hall of Fame Guitarist John Primer, plus Billy Branch, John Kattke and Dave Specter at WangDangDoodle on July 2 at 7:00 PM CDT.
