NEW ORLEANS BEAU was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to Chicago in the early 1990s. He has performed at numerous clubs on Bourbon Street, Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White’s inaugural reception, Buddy Guy’s Legends, B.L.U.E.S. and many other top Chicago Clubs. He has made guest appearances on the Angela Hill Show in New Orleans and WGN Channel 9 Sound Stage. New Orleans Beau has three albums: Share My Love, Back To Louisiana and his most recent Booty Bounce.

“The eldest of three sons, BEAU’S talent was inherited from his grandfather Alvin Thomas and mother Lucy LeBeau, both long time professional singers who passed on the “Mardi Gras of flavors” in singing to BEAU during his childhood days. Beginning at the age of five, BEAU was exposed to talent shows, city competitions, backyard galas and, of course those family and friends singing spin-offs on the front porch, singing the blues and harmonizing on the good times. Those good old-fashion hometown memories will always play a part in BEAU’S performances. BEAU cites his four years in music class at Walter L. Cohen High School under the tutelage of vocal teacher Ms. Barbara Murray, as his major inspiration. He also acknowledges R & B legend Luther Vandross also as being an influence.

Throughout BEAU’S national and international touring schedule, in addition to the artists mentioned above, he has performed with numerous entertainers and legends, most notably: The Chi-Lites,The Neville Brothers, Irma Thomas, Charmaine Neville, Melba Moore, Aaron Neville, Denise LaSalle, Bobby Rush, The Whispers, Willie Clayton, and Little Milton. BEAU has also performed at many venues including New Orleans House of Blues, The National Black Expo, New Orleans Jazz Fest, and Illinois Governor George Ryan’s Inaugural Ball.

BEAU’S talent goes beyond singing the Blues, R&B, Jazz, Gospel, Pop, and yes, Opera. He is also an accomplished bass guitarist, and drummer. BEAU is a registered songwriter and producer of most of his music. You can get a preview of his original hits during his shows. You’re going to love it.

Beau’s performance on stage is like eating GUMBO; it contains a mixture of ingredients like Louie Armstrong, Stevie Wonder, BB King, Marvin Gaye and much more. But the ingredients are STEWED into one person and comes out “Spicy” and “Hot.” BEAU will season his shows the way you want it for any occasion. WATCH OUT!…When you hear BEAU utter his favorite phrase “My Medication Is Kicken In” it’s like turning up the FIRE… the show is going to get HOTTER!

Seeing BEAU and his band performing is an exhibition of precision and explosion of energy–A must see!– An all time performance and dramatic show! You will be back for MORE!”

Both OneSource Band and Beau are appearing at the same venue, Rosa’s, this Friday, April 1, 2022. OneSouce Band are members of the late Otis Clay’s band and their mission is to keep the legacy of Otis Clay alive. They are regular performers at The Odyssey East way down on the S. Side and this appearance at Rosa’s is a rare trip this far north. Friday’s gig will feature Beau as a vocalist and members of the old Otis Clay Band will be making guest appearances. It promises to be a great show and I’d like to give both artists their due.

“I accepted the opportunity for us to perform this Friday April 1, 2022 at Rosa’s to continue the vision and work of two Chicago Legends. Prior to his death in 2016 “Otis Clay” and Arranger/ Producer “Tom Tom Washington” were both on a mission to promote and sustain keeping “THE MUSIC” (as they call it), in our neighborhoods.

In my honest opinion, Rosa’s has contributed to the cause by starting from humble beginnings to keep Blues / Soul Music alive in a predominant neighborhood atmosphere, the same as SourceOneBand’s homebase on the Southeast Side, “The Odyssey.”  Odyssey owner Howard Smith is supporting this event, along with many of our patrons and former band members who will be in attendance at this Friday’s gig. Please come and celebrate “The Music” and club owners, Tony Mangiullo (Rosa’s)…and Howard Smith, with us!”
